If you have an iPhone 15 or higher, since the arrival of the USB-C connectorit is much easier for you to find cables at home that use that format. Previously, thanks to lightning, choosing the wrong cable or charger was more complicated, since there was only one type of device with it, however, not now.

It is something that happened to me this morning, and many of you will think that it is difficult to do, since the one on the console is black, and the one on the iPhone is white, or at least in my case. But I'm so used to putting both on, that when I woke up, I didn't differentiate between them, and I put my phone on charge with it.

Use Switch charger for iPhone

The main problem we could have, and the fact why I am writing this article, is that iPhones use 5V or even 9V chargers, more or less powerful, however, the Nintendo Switch works with a 15V onewhich is much more, and, therefore, at least in the past, it would have burned the device board, just by connecting it for a second.

But what has happened to me? Well, what many of you will think. Nothing. And the phone started charging, and it wasn't until the moment I was going to remove it when I realized that it wasn't the cable. The truth is that I couldn't say that it loaded more or less quickly, since it was very short, but I can say that it did so efficiently, and it didn't have any problems.

And the fact is that phones, today, come prepared with limits, so despite offer them more energy than they can handlenothing will happen, and they will only take what is necessary, so, in a way, I was theoretically charging my iPhone, at the maximum possible speed and without risks, so I could say that its use is even interesting.

In short, no, nothing has happened to himand you can use the charger of a Nintendo Switch, or even that of your Mac, which is even more powerful, and your iPhone will accept it without problems or risks, so you already know, using any cable is welcome for your phone, and you will only notice a different speed, depending on the type used.

The Switch charger is even cheaper than Apple's fast charger, so it wouldn't be a bad option even as a substitute, although many studies say that it is best to offer the necessary power to your devices, so, even if nothing happens, could be harmful in the long runand since there is no clear answer to the issue, I, for my part, except in emergencies, will continue giving everyone theirs, until I am wrong again, although I will be calmer knowing what is happening.

And you, have you ever tried a charger that was not the original for a product other than the one it was designed for? Has anything happened? Leave us a comment with your experiences, in case any of them have not gone well, let us all know.
