As expected, the macOS Sequoia 15.3 beta introduces Genmoji to Mac, allowing users to create and use custom emojis for the first time on Apple computers. Although Genmoji were added in iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2, the feature was not included in the macOS 15.2 update.

How do Genmoji work?

With the app Genmojiusers can enter a text command to generate a custom character that functions like an emoji on devices running iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1 or later. On earlier versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and Android devices, Genmoji appear as static images.

THE Genmoji can be inserted directly from the keyboard’s emoji palette, accessible via the keyboard shortcut Control + Command + Space in apps like Notes, or by clicking the emoji icon in Messages.
