The Apple Watch Series 10 introduces the largest display ever on an Apple Watch (larger than the Ultra), along with two new watch faces designed to take advantage of that expanded real estate. Apple says the Series 10 will feature the “Fluctuation” and “Reflection” watch faces when it launches on March 20. But the good news is that they’re also coming to older watches, like the Series 9 and Ultra 2. And for some customers, a third watch face has been added in watchOS 11.
Two dials for all
Apple describe the dial Fluctuation as having a “bold graphic design that fills the screen with changing colors second by second.”
The second watch face, “Reflections,” is also made possible by the faster refresh rate. Apple says this watch face features a shimmering dial that subtly reacts to the user’s movements and is designed to complement the Series 10’s highly reflective titanium cases.
It’s worth noting that the other notable change to the Apple Watch Series 10’s display is its faster refresh rate. Previously, the display refreshed once per minute in always-on mode, but with the Series 10, that rate drops to once per second thanks to a more energy-efficient wide-angle OLED display. So other models won’t look as polished as the new one.
A Hermès dial
Additionally, Apple introduced the first Hermès edition of the Apple Watch Ultra. This version comes with an exclusive Maritime dial, featuring graphic numerals Cape CodThe bezel displays seconds, and pressing the Action button activates a countdown. Regattaideal for keeping time on the boat as well as on land, according to Apple. But the price is not accessible to everyone, expect to pay at least €1,579.
You’ll get the new watch faces with the release of watchOS 11 next Monday.
