Well, 2025 is starting strong for Apple fans, and a new leak from well-known leaker Evan Blass confirms that the next iPad Air models will be equipped with the powerful M3 chipthe same one that currently mounts the MacBook Air.

2025 iPad Air with M3 chip

According to a private post on social media, Blass revealed a source code fragment that explicitly mentions a series of three new iPads: an 11-inch iPad Air, a 13-inch iPad Air and an entry-level iPad 11. Although it is not known where this information comes from, Blass’ solid reputation in the world of leaks reinforces the credibility of this data.

The most striking detail of the leak is the arrival of the M3 chip in the new iPad Air. This processor, which has already proven its capabilities in the latest Macs, promises to take the performance of Apple tablets to a completely new range. Although some rumors speculated that Apple would adopt the M4 chip for these models, it seems that the company has decided to keep the M3 as the main engine of the iPad Air. This decision could be motivated by the high costs and limited production of chips made with TSMC’s N3B process, which makes the M3 a more logical option.

On the other hand, it is not mentioned what the processor of the next iPad 11but previous reports from Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman suggest that this entry-level model could incorporate the A17 Pro chip along with 8 GB of RAM, which would open the door to support for Apple Intelligence, the company’s advanced artificial intelligence.

The current iPad 10 models, launched in October 2022, feature the A14 Bionic chip and 4 GB of RAM. Although its initial price was €499, Apple reduced them last year to €399making the entry line more accessible. However, it’s unclear whether the iPad 11 will maintain that competitive price or return to a higher figure due to potential hardware improvements.

The iPad Air is the best quality-price tablet

The last major update to the iPad Air came in May 2024, with the arrival of the M2 chip and the introduction of the 13-inch model. Although no major design changes are expected in the new models, internal improvements could consolidate the iPad Air as the perfect balance between power and price for users who don’t need the premium features of the iPad Pro.

Furthermore, according to the leak, these new iPads could arrive accompanied by a redesign of Magic Keyboardswhich points to a more complete experience for those who use the device as a work or study tool.
