A recent operating system update has plagued Nothing phones with issues. Many have complained about their device’s performance after updating, and many others are seriously considering doing so due to the consequences. These include connection errors, faster battery drain, overheating issues, and more.

There are several people who complain about this and don’t know what’s wrong with their phone or why, so if you have a Nothing phone and are thinking about updating to receive all the new features of the next version and make it more secure, be careful because it could cause you major problems.

A buggy update for Nothing phones

In recent days, more and more people have noticed their phones starting to fail, and in all cases, it’s happened after updating. The complaints are varied, as one user on the brand’s forums said a few days ago:

A new operating system update was recently released. After that, my phone started behaving suspiciously: the Telegram app couldn’t send files, the phone overheated, and the battery completely drained just 3 hours after the screen went off. For example, I haven’t even left work yet, and my phone is already dead. What’s wrong with my phone?

The problem persists, and more and more people are starting to notice it. In fact, one user has confirmed that his battery is damaged because he charges his phone two or three times a day without playing games or using social media, or WhatsApp. Others have already complained about battery issues in recent days, and more will continue to complain about the same thing until it’s fixed. Quite a few people are also experiencing their Nothing smartphones getting too hot.

Another issue with the update is related to battery protection, which also doesn’t work properly, according to some Reddit users, like this one:

I recently got my Nothing Phone (3a) and updated it to the latest April update. I noticed a minor glitch with the battery protection feature. I have the charging limit set to 80% and the battery protection enabled. However, the phone continues charging to 88% instead of stopping at 80%. Has this happened to anyone else after the latest update? I’d love to know if there’s a solution or if one is already known.

Other users have complained of issues with their headphones, which can’t connect even when Bluetooth is on, and other connection problems, such as being without a network after restarting the phone. While restarting the phone may work in some cases, the problem returns after a while. One user claims that on their Nothing (3a) Pro, the update caused the network to disconnect, and even said it was in airplane mode when it wasn’t. Nothing phones have been plagued with battery, connection, and other issues, always after the update.

This happens with the different models of the brand that are updated, there are even those who have wondered if it is normal for a phone as recent as theirs, the Phone (3a), to have so many problems after such a short time. The April update for Nothing mobile phones has done a lot of damage to the brand’s phones, with different problems that today seem unresolved. We have no evidence that it has been fixed, so more affected phones will continue to appear. Despite being on their forums, we also do not know if the brand is working on fixing the errors of its latest update or has made any statement about it. We will continue to report as soon as we know more, although if you have already decided to update and have encountered problems, you can contact the brand to complain, and if you see a new update, install it because it could have the patch that fixes the recent failures.
