The iPhone’s “Raise to Wake” feature is convenient in most cases, with clever handling for example when the phone is in your pocket, but it becomes useless when using the flashlight.

Once again, jailbreak enthusiasts are particularly neat with a new tweak called RaiseLight.

Apple has a surprise for the flashlight

The RaiseLight tweak, developed by Ichitasoautomatically disables “Raise to Wake” when the rear flash is used as a flashlight. This prevents the screen from accidentally turning on while searching for an object. Better yet, RaiseLight also disables “Touch to Wake” to prevent the screen from turning on accidentally. You can still wake the screen by pressing the power button, keeping your device usable in case of specific need.

The rear LED flash already consumes a lot of battery, and activating the screen unnecessarily only makes this problem worse. If you are the type of person who uses the torch regularly, then you should install RaiseLight. Of course, this new tweak reverts to the initial configuration as soon as the flash is turned off.

RaiseLight supports the latest jailbreaks rootless like Dopamine and palera1n for iOS 15 and iOS 16. The tweak is available for free in the personal repository ofIchitaso via your favorite package manager like Cydia, Sileo or Installer.
