Everything pointed to Apple creating its own smart ringfollowing in the footsteps of Samsung and with many advances in the project. However, due to the number of launches and annual products they have, they have put this idea aside, at least for now.
However, there were many who were waiting for the release of the Apple Ring, so now they will have to settle for alternatives from other brands, which although they are not the same, may come close to what they were looking for, so let’s see them.
Alternatives to Apple Ring
It is true that we do not know how this ring was going to turn out, since it could only be to measure physical activity, or it could also allow us to pay with it (something that the Samsung one does not allow), or even perform NFC actions. However, since the project did not see the light of day, we will have to imagine it, and see different alternatives for each case, since there is none so complete.
- Oura Ring: It is one of the best known. This smart ring stands out for its precision in tracking sleep and physical activity. Monitor metrics such as heart rate, body temperature and activity levels. It requires a monthly subscription to access all its features, one of its negative points.
- Samsung Galaxy Ring: Which we talked about at the beginning, and which is why we believed Apple would release its own. Offers health and fitness tracking, including sleep and heart rate monitoring. It integrates with the Samsung Health platform and does not require a monthly subscription, so we would talk about an Oura but without having to pay month by month.
- Amazfit Helium Ring: If you are looking for all of the above, but in a more economical way, the Amazfit Helio does the same, without subscriptions, cheaper and available for both Android and iOS, so it can be a good alternative if you don’t have a Samsung or don’t want to pay month by month.
- Ricky: This ring does not monitor activity, in fact, it does not even have a battery. This accessory is designed to be paid with. Through NFC we can associate a card and make payments simply by holding it close to a dataphone, as if it were a card, so if you were expecting the Apple Ring through the use of Apple Pay, this is very similar and convenient.
There are other models that, although they are even cheaper, do not work as well, and we cannot say that they are a real alternative to what we expected from the Tim Cook brand, so we will stick with these 4, and we hope that some adapts to what you really wanted, since, at least for now, Apple will not launch its own, although who knows in the future, we do not lose hope.
