Although this is something that most people know, if you have entered here you probably do not know the function, and yet it is very useful, especially when you are not in your city and leave the parked car in a place you don’t know, being difficult, at times, to return to it, at least by the shortest route.
iPhones do this automatically, so you won’t have to configure anything, just a small requirement that we will see now, and search, in the way that I will tell you below, every time you want to see where the car is, or at minus its last known location.
Locate car on iPhone
The only requirement that we mentioned is that your car has Bluetooththat is, you have the iPhone connected to it. It is essential, since, if not, your iPhone will not know that you are in it, and it will not be able to detect when you enter and leave it, since they are smart, but not that smart, so you will have to synchronize it with the vehicle.
By doing this, the phone will know when you park your car, since it will be when you turn it off and, therefore, it will unlink from Bluetooth. At that moment your iPhone will take as a reference the place where you are, thus marking your car as parked.
This, logically, has some cons, and that is that if you are the co-pilot, and you simply get out of it, the iPhone will also mark that position, however, your family member or friend who is actually driving will park somewhere else, so you will not be able to trust from that point, something to keep in mind when looking for it.
If you simply drive, things change, and not only will you be able to see it on the map, but you will also be able to guide yourself to it, as if it were any other location, yes, and this is where the trick is, it will only be seen with the app. Apple Maps, so if you usually use Google Maps, Waze or another, you will never have noticed.
To do this, and even though you don’t use it, you can check it by going to Maps (you would have to have it natively if you didn’t delete it) and search for «Parked Car«. When you do this, you should see its last location, as well as the time that has passed since that moment, although, as we said, if another person has taken it, logically it will not be there, nor will the iPhone know it.
