TCL took advantage of CES 2025 to present its new smartphone model, the 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G. The latter offers a fairly stunning visual experience that could convince users who are eager to read. Here’s what you need to know about this phone.

What is NXTPAPER?

This feature created by TCL was first launched on its Android tablets. Choosing this option provides a paper-like reading experience, with rich colors and significant reduction in blue light. It eliminates reflections for better visual comfort, perfect for prolonged reading. And in fact, the idea is to offer this option on smartphones.

It is therefore the TCL 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G that is the first of this innovation. Significantly, this model is sold for less than $200 in the United States, which should convince many consumers.

So just press this NXTPAPER button on the device and that’s it. Everyone who has had the chance to test it confirms that this smartphone is reminiscent of a Kindle-type experience in reading mode. Others, like Android Authoritypraise its very long battery life compared to e-readers on the market. It could last up to a week using this feature!

Good value for money?

For his part, 9to5Google is full of praise for this smartphone:

Unlike many other devices with this type of device, the 60 XE has very smooth animations and touch responses. Even the maximum ink mode, which is supposed to be energy efficient, adopts a higher refresh rate to make the experience bearable.

Add to this main feature, a phone with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, as well as a 50 MP main camera and you get appreciable performance for a smartphone at this price. It will of course be necessary to test it further to form a definitive opinion on it, but the TCL 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G has it all.
