Kuo estimates that Apple will launch an iPad Pro M5 at the end of 2025. Nothing new knowing that Apple has released one iPad Pro per year for four consecutive years. The iPad Pro M4 appeared in May 2024, the iPad Pro M5 would rather be around October/November 2025.
Five models in five years, 5/5
Last May, Apple unveiled the iPad Pro M4, an extremely powerful model and the first in its category to display an unprecedented thickness of 5.1 mm for the 13-inch version. We also had the opportunity to test it for you. After launching the iPad Pro M4 in 2024, Apple intends to release an iPad Pro M5 as early as next year.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple plans to launch mass production of the iPad Pro equipped with the M5 processor at the end of 2025. The brand continues to maintain a breakneck pace since the introduction of Apple Silicon. In four years, we’ve seen four new iPad Pros released, and it looks like we’re on track to welcome a fifth model in five years.
For most users, the iPad Pro M1, released in 2021, is still largely oversized for everyday use. By maintaining such a rapid launch pace, Apple is not necessarily targeting current Apple Silicon iPad Pro owners. Like the iPhone, there are new users ready to upgrade every year. This is when Apple intervenes with a recent device which becomes essential when choosing.
A recent CIRP study reveals that the iPad Pro is the most popular model among iPads on sale. With a market share of around 45%, this means that almost one in two iPads purchased is an iPad Pro. Apple therefore has every reason to continue to unveil a new model every year.
