iphone xs iconApple has just updated its list of old and obsolete products, adding several older iconic iPhone models, as well as some Apple Watches. On his American pagethe firm talks about products vintage.

Vintage iPhones

The iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone XS Max are now considered “vintage” around the world. Apple marks a product as “vintage” five years after it ceases sale. Repairs for these vintage devices may still be available if the necessary parts are in stock at Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

If you had the iPhone 6s Plus with 32GB of storage, that particular model was already considered “obsolete” because it had been removed from sale earlier.

Oddly, Apple has yet to include the iPhone XS and iPhone 6s in the “vintage” category. For the record, the iPhone XS did not bring much compared to the iPhone

The Apple Watch Series 2 is obsolete

The aluminum and stainless steel versions of the Apple Watch Series 2 are now considered “obsolete” by Apple, while the ceramic version of the same model remains unlisted.

A product becomes “obsolete” seven years after Apple stops its distribution. Once obsolete, these products generally cannot be repaired at Apple or its authorized service centers, with the exception of MacBook battery replacement, which can be performed up to 10 years after production has ceased.
