PolyCapture is a macOS application that should interest podcasters, YouTubers, TikTokers and other videographers since it allows you to simultaneously record multiple audio and video sources such as cameras (FaceTime, iPhone or external), microphones, screens, and even applications, individually or combined.

With PolyCaptureyou can record webcams (even the iPhone camera), capture cards, iOS devices, microphones, entire screens, specific areas of the screen or even individual application windows. All in a clean and intuitive user interface, which recalls the skeuomorphism of the early iPhone, particularly fashionable two decades ago.
Video recording supports macOS’s built-in video effects with the latest APIs available to developers, such as Portrait modethere Studio Light, Center Stage and the Reactions (on compatible cameras). Audio recording uses theVoice isolation in macOS to improve voice clarity by reducing background noise (on compatible microphones). When it comes to screenshotting, it’s possible to exclude certain apps on the fly to prevent them from interfering with your recording. You can even record just the screen audio or a specific portion of it.
Our opinion on PolyCapture
As soon as discovered, as soon as installed. After launch, I had to grant several permissions, including access to screen recording and microphone (which will need to be confirmed monthly on macOS 15). Setting up a session with the built-in webcam, part of the screen, built-in microphone, and system audio took less than a minute. Adding the iPhone via “Continuity Camera” only took a few extra seconds.
The final recording produced four files: three .mov files from the two cameras and the Mac screen, and an audio file in .caf format (Core Audio File, which opens by default with GarageBand). The total size of the raw files from the 30-second recording session was 51 MB, which is quite reasonable.

If PolyCapture will not be useful to everyone, its enormous potential should interest many content creators. If you are interested, know that the application is free and that you will only have to pay €3.99 (one time) to be able to save your recordings on the Mac disk. It’s really cheap!
To download PolyCapture, you need macOS 14.7 minimum. The only flaw remains its lack of translation into French, but that is not prohibitive either.
