Andrew Webster of The Verge said that “the first season was no fluke; “This second installment maintains the level and pushes the limits of the Severance universe in fascinating ways.” For her part, Angie Han of The Hollywood Reporter noted that this season “is darker and less humorous, but it hits even closer to home, tackling themes of alienation and loss of identity with chilling intensity.”
