Uber announces that it is partnering with NVIDIA to develop autonomous driving. One has an automobile service and the other powerful platforms to accelerate the development of autonomous driving. Two giants hand in hand.

Uber x Nvidia

At CES 2025, Uber announced a strategic collaboration with Nvidia to accelerate the development of autonomous driving technology. This collaboration aims to use Nvidia’s new artificial intelligence technologies, including the platform Cosmos and the cloud supercomputing platform DGX Cloudto improve Uber’s capabilities in the field of autonomous vehicles (AV).

According to Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, “Generative AI will power the future of mobility, requiring both rich data and ultra-high computing power.” By working with Nvidia, Uber believes it will be able to significantly accelerate the timeline for safe and scalable autonomous driving solutions.

Uber plans to use the vast data from its millions of daily trips to improve AI models for autonomous vehicles. This data will be combined with Nvidia’s Cosmos platform, designed to eliminate cost and resource barriers in developing physical AI systems, and the DGX Cloud platform, which offers a fully managed, high-performance AI infrastructure.

Norm Marks, vice president of automotive at Nvidia, expressed excitement about the collaboration, saying Uber is among the first mobility leaders to adopt these platforms. This partnership is expected to equip the VA ecosystem with advanced tools and platforms, with more details to be shared later in the year.

This announcement even succeeded in boosting Uber’s stock market share, demonstrating that the market seems for the moment to be convinced by this initial information. On the side of Nvidia, which presented its RTX 50 and announced GeForce Now on Vision Pro, it is an additional communication coup. Uber, recognized worldwide and the undisputed leader in its field, adds a dimension of credibility and reach to this collaboration.
