Do we still need to present these strange yellow men? It will be four decades since The Simpsons delight viewers all over the world. The anticipations of screenwriters have often been cited as an example to the point that the expression: “The Simpsons predicted it” has become more and more common. Let’s take advantage of this article to look back at four brilliant prophecies from the series available on Disney+. (Warning, the following reveals some important spoilers for certain episodes).
The end of Game of Thrones anticipated
The conclusion of the HBO series disappointed many viewers. In the first episode of season 29, The Simpsons parody the universe of George RR Martin and we see a dragon destroying a village after Homer reanimated it.

Many saw it as a foreshadowing of when Daenerys Targaryen burned King’s Landing even though the inhabitants had surrendered. Enough to make you think that the series anticipated the fact that this character was going to turn into a villain.
The election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris
In a special episode published on YouTube in 2019, we can see a passage where different American politicians participate in a singing competition. The images show us a duo on stage: Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. What is disturbing is that this pair was absolutely not formed during this broadcast. The two were even rivals during the Democratic primary.
Tesla’s Cybertruck
In episode 15 of season 2, Homer meets his half-brother, who happens to be the head of a large American automobile manufacturer. The latter suggests that he create the car of the future. The result is a vehicle that costs a crazy $82,000 and is very ugly.
Some saw a resemblance to Tesla’s Cybertruck, presented by Elon Musk as a futuristic model. Of course, we will not settle the debate here and everyone has their own tastes.
Space tourism
During the 15th episode of season 5, Homer takes a space trip. At the time, this seemed quite improbable, but we subsequently saw that the idea of space tourism was no longer so far-fetched for those who could afford it.
That’s all for this week. To go further, we invite you to reread our article dedicated to the best episodes of The Simpsons.
