Asus has just unveiled the NUC 14 Pro AI, a real condensed power in a miniature template. It integrates Copilot+ technology, but that is not its only advantage. The Taiwanese company strikes a big blow since it has also chosen to house an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor. All in a black and fairly refined case, reminding us of the design of a competitor: the Mac Mini M4 .
Several architectures, but one word: power
The NUC 14 Pro AI offers a range of configurations built around five versions of processors. From the Core Ultra 5 226V with its 16 GB of integrated RAM to the behemoth Core Ultra 9 288V accompanied by 32 GB of RAM, everyone will find something to suit them.
Graphics capabilities reach 67 TOPS in GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), associated with 48 TOPS of the NPU (Neural Processing Unit): colossal processing power which is perfect for demanding tasks (3D renderings, video, etc.) and artificial intelligence. To put it in perspective, this combination of 115 TOPS far exceeds the capacity of supercomputers of two decades ago.
The storage is based on an M.2 2280 format coupled with a PCIe Gen 4 x4 interface. This configuration allows you to use NVMe SSDs from 256 GB to 2 TB with exceptional transfer speeds.
Miniaturization pushed to its climax
The dimensions of the case – 130 mm in depth and width for only 34 mm in height – even surpass the compactness of the Mac Mini and its 50 mm height.
This reduction of scale does not hinder the richness of connections : a fingerprint reader on the top, a Copilot button on the front for voice commands to Microsoft’s AI assistant, two USB-A ports, a Thunderbolt 4 port and a headphone jack complete the front.
The rear accommodates equally generous connectivity : 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port, a second Thunderbolt 4, two additional USB-A ports and an HDMI output. In terms of wireless connectivity, we are using the best and most recent: WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The only downside: Asus has not provided any information regarding a potential release date or even the price of the NUC 14 Pro AI. The only thing we can be sure about: it will not be positioned at the entry level in view of the announced specs.
