WhatsApp is the most popular application of all. Whether you have an Android or an iPhone, we all have it, however, we usually leave it as it comes from the factory, without changing settings that, personally, I think are very important, at least if you want to enjoy all the quality it can offer you.
That is why today we are going to see one of those that are hidden, and that, by default, comes with an option that is not the best at all, and that hardly has any benefits, that is why we are going to learn how to change it and from the First minute you will notice the improvement, which I can already tell you is great.
Improve the quality of WhatsApp
Within the WhatsApp settings we have many options that we normally do not review, and we trust that the app itself leaves the appropriate values, and as long as it works for us, why touch?
Well, there is one that, personally, I think is very poorly adjusted, and that is the quality of loading the files, that is, when you are going to send or receive a photo, it can be compressed so as not to take up so much space, which which also consumes less data to do so, however, on many occasions, we take a group photo, we want to share it, and we don’t want it to look bad, without worrying about spending a little more data, since sometimes we use WiFi or have unlimited.
To change this we will only have to go to Settings – Storage and data – File upload quality.
At this point you will have to change the standard quality option, which is default, to HD Quality, which as it explains, can take up to 6 times longer, however, the other person will be able to see the photo as it is, without compress and lose all the detail, especially when it is a large group of people or is far away.
Remember that this, as we said, will have a significant burden on the data consumptionso if a large video would occupy 50 MB, it can occupy 300 MB, which although it should not be a problem, it can worry people with a small data plan, which is why WhatsApp, by default, does not It has this option enabled, something that for me is basic if you have WiFi or unlimited data, since it will take a couple of seconds longer to send, but the result has nothing to do with it, and will be much better.
And you, are you one of those who prefers to see a worse image, but consume less data? Or, on the contrary, did you not know this setting and are you going to change it immediately? Since I did it the difference is brutal, and I don’t know how I could be comfortable with such a low image resolution. Now that you know, you can try it, especially if you have a WiFi network, at least so you can see the difference in quality between an HD transmission and a standard one and thus you can better decide which one you are going to stay with, since there is no middle ground.
