During the American presidential campaign, the eccentric American billionaire Elon Musk does not seem to have hesitated for a second. He who supported Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012, then Hillary Clinton and even Joe Biden in 2020 changed sides. He took up the cause of Republican candidate Donald Trump.

This massive support, both on social networks and on Trump’s campaign accounts, allowed Musk to recover a ministry, DOGE. This title, created for him, must sort out the American public administration, to reduce expenses as much as possible. As such, Elon Musk seems to have all the rights.

But Musk’s support didn’t just earn him a seat, it’s a whole power of influence that lies behind this precious help. So when Donald Trump had to name the future administrator of NASA, it was Jared Isaacman, one of Musk’s closest friends who got the job, despite a more than light CV.

The GAFAM place their pawns

Seeing the potential for presidential aid, the other GAFAM are coming out of the shadows. Mark Zuckerberg recently made headlines by offering a pair of RayBan Meta connected glasses to the newly elected president. The opportunity to advertise your product obviously, but also to attract the sympathy of the tenant of the White House.

To drive the point home, a donation of one million dollars was made to the president’s inauguration fund. Amazon achieved the same according to the Wall Street Journal. A small sum for these companies which weigh several tens of billions of dollars, but the symbol is there.

Because both Meta and Amazon know that Donald Trump’s second term in the White House is decisive. These companies are considered too big, too important. And faced with such a situation, the so-called “anti-trust” American laws are clear, it is necessary to destroy the commercial empire in question, to give competition a chance.

In order to avoid these chopping blows in their empires, the GAFAM are placing their hopes in Donald Trump. Even the giant Google could not resist the call from the White House and Sundar Pichai, the company’s CEO, is expected on December 19 at Mar-a-Lago, in Trump’s Florida residence.

Apple: the only giant not to bend the knee

The only GAFAM company that has not yet bowed to Trump is Apple. The Apple brand, with deeply democratic values, refuses to make an arrangement with President Trump. However, behind the scenes, Apple would be ready to sit down at the table.

The Apple also does not want to have to split its empire into several pieces. She is already facing the wrath of the European Commission and does not want to be attacked on her own soil.
