GTA VI will not be released as long as Donald Trump is president, Dan Houser says. A statement from 2018 which turns out to be incorrect in 2024. On the other hand, GTA 6 will not be released with Dan Houser at its head, a statement which will still be valid in 2025.

Everything changes so quickly

It’s official this morning, Donald Trump is re-elected for a second term and becomes the 47th president of the United States. The opportunity is ripe to return to the words of Dan Houser, co-founder of the studio Rockstar Games with his brother Sam Houser. The fathers of GTA, Red Dead Redemption and other Max Payne.

2018 > 2024

Six years ago now, Dan Houser gave an interview to GQ in which he confirmed that GTA VI would never be released as long as Donald Trump is president. A shock release dated October 24, 2018 which made us understand that the game would not arrive before at best the end of 2020, the date on which the new elections crowned Joe Biden the 46th president of the United States.

We really don’t know what we would do with it, let alone how upset people would be with anything we did. Progressivism and conservatism are both very militant and very angry.

It’s creepy and strange, and yet they both seem to veer into the absurd at times. It is difficult to satire for these reasons. You see, we are totally beyond satire. GTA VI would be out of date within two minutes, everything changes so quickly.

Everything is changing so quickly… The last sentence of this statement fits perfectly with the current situation. GTA VI is scheduled for fall 2025 and ironically, Donald Trump will be the president in office when the game is released. Enough to push back the release of the most anticipated video game of all time to fall 2028, the date of next elections in which Donald Trump will not be able to participate?

Stop joking, GTA VI will indeed be released in a year, whoever the president is. In addition, Dan Houser left Rockstar Games on March 11, 2020. He therefore no longer has a say in the game that everyone has been waiting for for a decade.

The only question: will the PS5 Pro really bring anything to GTA 6?
