In the last few hours, a video has been leaked of a user unpacking the new 2024 MacBook Pro, with the brand new and powerful M4 chip. This device has not yet been officially announced but we already know everything about it. It’s a beast!
Russian YouTube channel Wylsacom uploaded the video, and it was quickly shared on the X platform by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. Although the authenticity of the video has not been confirmed, the images suggest that this new model brings significant improvements over the previous generation, with four key updates.
What’s new with the 2024 MacBook Pro
The video shows what appears to be the same MacBook Pro that had already appeared in photos leaked in September by ShrimpApplePro, who alleged that this device was being sold in a private Facebook group. Although there is no official confirmation, the specifications seen in the video offer a clear idea of what Apple could be preparing for its next launch.
- 25% faster M4 chip– One of the most notable updates is the new M4 chip with a 10-core CPU. According to an alleged Geekbench 6 result shared by the same YouTube channel, the M4 could offer up to 25% higher performance than the M3. Apple had already introduced this chip in the iPad Pro in May, so the performance improvements had already been anticipated in the brand’s ecosystem.
- 16 GB of RAM as standard: another important novelty seems to be the inclusion of 16GB of RAM as a base configuration in the new 14-inch MacBook Pro. This change would increase the performance of the equipment, making intensive use applications work more fluidly from the most basic model.
- Three Thunderbolt 4 ports: The video also reveals an improvement in connectivity, with three Thunderbolt 4 ports on the base model of the 14-inch MacBook Pro, instead of the two Thunderbolt 3 ports found on the current version. This would allow greater flexibility for users who rely on multiple external devices, such as monitors and hard drives, for their daily work.
- New Space Black color. Until now, this elegant finish was reserved for high-end models that include the M3 Pro and M3 Max chips. If confirmed, this color option would bring a more premium look to the most affordable version of the line.

New MacBook release date
As has been known in the last few hours, although not officially, everything seems to indicate that this new equipment will go on sale the next day November 1. On that same day, the 7th generation iPad mini will be launched, as well as the new Mac mini. These three devices will be announced and previously presented at an event that will take place in the second half of October.
