If you have an iPhone and an Apple Watch, you surely know Apple Fitness+, and we have all used it, due to the free trial they offer when you purchase one of their devices. However, most users do not renew it, giving Apple zero profits.
This is due, in part, to the fact that it is not engaging, and many customers believe that it only has videos that you can watch on other platforms, without paying, and better, despite the fact that its appeal is that it measures your heart rate at the same time thanks to the synchronization of the app and the watch. That is why its days could be numbered, at least as we know it.
The Apple Fitness+ service does not convince anyone
It seems that Apple is thinking seriously what to do with your Fitness+ service. According to Mark Gurman, the company is reviewing everything related to the platform, which has not taken off since it came out in 2020, or at least not as they would like.
Fitness+ was born as a way to train at home with guided videos and the support of the Apple Watch. At first it sounded promising, but over time many users stopped using it. Although it has a small group of fans who use it every day, the service doesn't generate as much money or attention as other Apple products.
Still, Apple doesn't want to throw it overboard. It doesn't cost much to maintain, and removing it completely could give a bad image. That's why, instead of closing it, they have decided to give it a new look. It will now be led by Sumbul Desai, Apple's vice president of health, who will report directly to Eddy Cue, the head of services.
The idea is to rethink how Fitness+ fits within the world of wellness and health that Apple has been building for years with the Apple Watch. Maybe we'll see new features, a more personal approach, or deeper integration with your devices.
For now, Fitness+ is still available for about $10 a month (and euros) or as part of the Apple One Premier plan. It doesn't seem like it's going to disappear anytime soon, but it's clear that Apple wants to give it a change of direction so that it makes more sense in its ecosystem and re-attracts people who stopped using it.
For Spain, It would be very interesting if the platform integrated videos in our languagesince although it would not give them the success they are looking for, it is true that many of us could rethink its use, especially if we acquire it within the One plan, since, currently, if you do not know English, you have no way of watching any training in another language, even though there are subtitles. This is something that could change, or at least it is the first thing I see, on a personal level, as a good option to attract more people.
And you, are you an Apple Fitness+ user? Have you tried it but not anymore? Leave us a comment with the modifications or improvements that Apple should make so that you finally decide to pay for the service.
