Apple has released the final version of macOS Sequoia 15.2 to the general public, after a month and a half of beta. This version brings its share of new features, notably accompanying iOS 18.2 in the deployment of Apple Intelligence tools, based on AI. Once again, the French will have to wait to benefit from this complete section.
What’s new in macOS Sequoia 15.2
After a very interesting 15.1 release, macOS Sequoia 15.2 introduces additional AI features.
Mac users with M1 or later processors can benefit from:
- ChatGPT integration with Siri for enhanced voice control capabilities.
- Image Playground app and system-wide functionality for generating creative images.
- Write tool improvements, including custom rewrite options powered by ChatGPT.
- Expanded English support in regions including Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Please note, Genmoji support is not included in this macOS update but is available on iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 for iPhone and iPad users.
Additional improvements:
- Weather Widget: A new menu bar widget for quick weather updates.
- AirPlay improvements: new screen sharing options.
- Find My Improvement: Ability to share item locations with others.
Interface and stability updates:
- Various user interface improvements.
- Several bug fixes aimed at improving system stability.
Install the update
On Sequoia-compatible Macs, simply go to System Settings > General > Software Update. Before that, consider making a backup via Time Machine and/or doing disk cleanup so you can download the necessary gigabytes.

Image Playground
- A new app that lets you use concepts, descriptions, and people from your photo library to create fun, playful images in multiple styles.
- Browse previews and make your selections as you add concepts to your playground
- Choose from animation and illustration styles when creating your image
- Create images in Messages and Freeform, as well as third-party apps.
- Images sync to your Image Playground library across all your devices with iCloud.
ChatGPT support
- OpenAI’s ChatGPT is accessible directly from Siri or writing tools.
- Compose in Writing Tools lets you create something from scratch with ChatGPT
- Siri can access ChatGPT when relevant to provide you with a response.
- A ChatGPT account is not required and your requests will be anonymous and will not be used to train OpenAI models.
- Log in with ChatGPT to access your account benefits, and requests will be covered by OpenAI’s data policies.
Additional Apple Intelligence features
- Describing your change in writing tools allows you to suggest how you would like something rewritten, for example as a poem.
Photos
- The Favorites album appears in the Utilities collection in addition to pinned collections.
- The history of recently viewed and recently shared albums can be cleared.
Safari
- New background images to personalize your Safari start page
- The HTTPS upgrade attempts to use secure HTTPS on all websites.
- Simplified import and export of history, bookmarks and passwords
This update also includes the following improvements and bug fixes:
- Sharing Item Locations in Find My helps you locate and recover misplaced items by easily and securely sharing the location of an AirTag or Find My network accessory with trusted third parties, such as airlines.
- Natural language search in the Apple Music and Apple TV app lets you describe what you’re looking for using any combination of categories like genres, moods, actors, decades, and more.
- Favorite Categories in Podcasts lets you choose your favorite categories and get relevant show recommendations that you can easily access in your library.
- The personalized podcast search page highlights the most relevant categories and editorial collections tailored to your needs.
- Sudoku for News+ Puzzles offered in three difficulty levels and available to News+ subscribers
- Presenter Preview lets you choose what you want to share (an app or your entire screen) before sharing it when you connect to an external display or use AirPlay.
- Pre-market stock quotes allow you to follow the NASDAQ and NYSE tickers before the market opens.
- Weather in Menu Bar lets you get current weather conditions from your Mac’s menu bar and click to quickly access detailed forecasts.
