Apple continues to refine watchOS 11, the interface that currently equips Apple Watches. This time it’s the watchOS 11.2 update. After the release of watchOS 11.1 on October 28, Apple offers us some minor improvements, alongside iOS 18.2 and company.
What’s new in watchOS 11.2
- Tides app : Improved map support for tidal conditions and coastal areas in China.
- Camera Remote : Now includes the ability to pause iPhone video recordings directly from Apple Watch.
- Photos app : Introduced millisecond display in video cleaner for precise video editing.
- Sleep Apnea Feature : extends to other countries.
- Selection of contactless applications : option to set a default application for contactless interactions.
- Fitness and rewards : Improvements to the Fitness app and introduction of new rewards.
- Bug fixes and stability : various improvements aimed at improving the overall stability of the system.
Among the bugs, we note that the battery status is now correctly reported in the system, after weeks of anomalies.
Previous updates
With watchOS 11.1, Apple introduced two Apple Intelligence features exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro or newer devices, which could be found on the watch (initially in English:
- Reduce interruptions : a new Focus mode that prioritizes notifications based on the relevance of the content.
- Summary : This feature allows Apple Intelligence to provide notification summaries.
On the watchOS 11 side, the star was the detection of sleep apnea, which affects more than a billion people worldwide and often goes undiagnosed, potentially leading to health problems like hypertension and diabetes type 2. It arrives in other countries.
