After iOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1, Apple deployed the final version of visionOS 2.1, a week after publishing the Release Candidate. This new version is intended for the general public, with no real novelty.
A small update 2.1
To install visionOS 2.1, customers can go to the “Software Update” section of the Settings app on Apple Vision Pro.
No major changes have been identified in this update across the betas, and it appears to focus on bug fixes and minor improvements. According to Apple, this update fixes an issue that could prevent songs and music videos from playing on Apple Music, as well as an issue with augmented reality tracking when you move your head. There is no more side effect, everything stays in its place.
What’s new in visionOS 2
For the record, The first major 2.0 update for the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset brought several improvements last September, including a simplification of gestures to access the control center and the integration of SharePlay into the photo library. It also introduces the generation of spatial photos from 2D images via AI, compatibility with a mouse, and a better extension of the Mac desktop with improved resolution. Additionally, the update optimizes keyboard recognition and delivers immersive new features for key apps like Safari and Apple TV. Other new features include multi-view to follow several sporting events simultaneously and customization of the home screen.
