We all know Google Mapsand we have all searched, at some point, for a photo of our house, the place where we live, work, etc., however, the time of year that we wanted to see does not always appear, or the Google car simply has not passed through that area.
Well, the other day, to try, I entered Apple Mapssince it has a similar function, although I thought it was going to be much worse, and that there would not even be records of my town, however, it surprised me, and it has more photos, and of better quality, than Google.
Apple Maps and its Street View
This Apple function is available to all users, you do not need to have a Mac or an iPhone, so if you are curious, you can do it from the browser, without needing the official application.
To do this, it is very simple, you will only have to enter Apple Mapsand, just like in Google, search for the desired address. Later, we can open Street View in binoculars iconalthough a preview of the image of the area will appear, where we can click to later move freely wherever we want.
In addition, Apple Maps has more functions, not only being able to see streets or places, but it acts as a navigator, and has different tools:
- Real time navigation: Routes for driving, walking, biking or public transportation with traffic alerts.
- Detailed maps: 3D buildings, specific lanes and interior maps.
- Public transport: Detailed directions for buses, trains and subways.
- Exploration: Nearby places, reviews and photos.
- Look Around View: Explore cities in 3D interactively.
- Siri Compatibility: Navigation by voice commands.
- Apple integration: Sync with iPhone, CarPlay, Apple Watch and more.
As a personal opinion, and evaluating the photographs of my surroundings, I can say that the quality of the images is better in Apple than in Google, in addition, at least in my case, they are more recent, so we could say that, frequently, the Apple car passes by more times, although it will depend on the area and luck, since it is likely that it was a coincidence, however, I am happy with the result, and from now on I will use the Maps of this company to check places that I want to see.
The effect when changing streets or moving between different points also seemed more realistic to me, however, this will depend on tastes, and today I only came to bring you this information, since many people do not know that Apple also has its own maps and photoswhich can help us see what some point is or was before, important in many situations, and that Google may not offer.
