If you have an Apple TV, you probably love its command and its design. What you may not like so much is the price of a new one, both to have as a secondary one, and as a replacement in case you have lost the original. It's around 70 euros, outrageous.
However, like everything in the world of technology, we have replicas, and in this case we are not talking about saving a few euros, but about getting them practically for free, from 3 eurosalthough as you will understand, the quality is not the same, however, they are functional, which is what matters.
Cheap Apple TV remote
The best of this type of alternativesis that they are functional with all Apple TVs, although the version will have to be reviewed, in case by chance, the one we left you is not functional with yours, although it should work. Of course, the quality, as we already mentioned, will not be the same, so you have to be clear that it will not be as robust as the original, although at least it will not cost you 70 euros, but you can buy it for 3 euros.
The one we are going to leave you here is from AliExpress, since we are going to an economical page, although you can find alternatives in other stores with faster shipping, at a somewhat higher price, however, their quality will be very similar, and they will only charge their intermediary commission, all leaving on the same side.
How to configure the controller
This will depend on the type of device you purchase. The one we have left you is IR, however, there are also Bluetooth ones, so we leave you two ways:
If the remote is Bluetooth:
- Turn on Apple TV and go to Settings.
- Select Controls and devices > Bluetooth.
- Put the controller on pairing mode.
- This is usually done by holding down a specific button (see the controller manual).
- Apple TV will detect the controller in the list of available devices.
- Select the controller and follow the on-screen instructions to complete it.
*In this case you must have a way to access the menu, so if you do not have anything alternative, it is better to use the option that we left you, and go for one with infrared, since as we will see now, it is simpler and another is not necessary.
If the controller uses infrared (IR):
- Make sure the controller has batteries or a charged battery.
- Point the controller directly at Apple TV.
- Press any button to see if it responds.
- If it doesn't work, go to Settings > Controls and devices > Learn command.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to have Apple TV learn the controller commands.
Ready, now you should have your functional remote, for only 3 euros, and with all the buttons available (depending on the model chosen), both for the first version of the Apple TV, as well as for the latest, so it should work for you with anyone.
