Jailbreak enthusiasts have long been the only ones able to rearrange Home screen icons beyond Apple’s default grid system, until iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. Before today’s tweak, Griddy , finding a tweak capable of doing this on iOS 15 and iOS 16 was mission impossible, especially because jailbreaks without full access (rootless) forced developers to find other ways to bypass the system.
Griddy Tweak Overview
Developer mikifp fixed this issue with Griddya new tweak that allows users to freely rearrange home screen icons. Griddy lets you move and drop app icons anywhere on top of your desktop background, allowing you to create custom layouts with blank spaces and rows, just like in iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. This gives users more control over rendering, highlighting apps, widgets and even the wallpaper.
Griddy’s main features include:
- Customizable layouts for the Home screen, Dock and folders
- Intuitive drag-and-drop controls that mimic the native experience
- Support for all sizes of app icons or widgets
- Separate layouts for landscape and portrait orientations
- Persistence of layouts even after restarts or resprings
Griddy is available for $1.49 via the Havoc repository and fully supports iOS 15, iOS 16, and the iPadOS equivalent. It is therefore compatible with the latest jailbreaks without root access such as Dopamine and Palera1n. The developer also thanks donato-fiore for his help in developing the tweak, and the source code is available on GitHub for those who want to know more.
