The Honor 200 Lite is a recent 5G smartphone that is positioned in the mid-range segment. Concretely, it has great features that make it a daily solution of choice for the majority of users. Obviously, it is not a question of benefiting from the best performance on the market, as with the HONOR Magic6 Pro for example, but of having a functional smartphone at an affordable price.
Priced at 329.90 euros, this phone displays a great value for money by offering a balanced technical sheet. After having been able to examine the Honor 200 Lite more closely, we are going to give you our first impressions, in order to help you determine if it is a model that may actually suit you. While waiting for our full test, here is what we thought of it.
Robustness and elegance are there
The brand has taken the time to take care of the finishes of the Honor 200 Lite, which is quite pleasant to look at with its rounded edges and its high-quality plastic case. With its pill-shaped notch, it would even almost look like the latest iPhones. Thanks to its ultra-thin (6.78 mm) and lightweight (only 166 g) design, the handling is also excellent. Is this to the detriment of solidity? A priori no, because the phone also seems to be robust.

An impression that is confirmed by phone in hand. The brand has pulled out all the stops in this area by focusing in particular on a highly shock-absorbing material, as well as a reinforced alloy on the corners of the phone. In this sense, it was certified by the Swiss laboratory SGS which gave it a five-star rating. Concretely, this means that the model can withstand falls from a height of up to 1.5 m. The aesthetics are therefore particularly successful on this smartphone, which lets you choose your favorite color from the three available: black, blue or cyan. Enough to allow you to find your happiness.
Good display quality
We also have nothing to complain about in terms of display quality, which is frankly exemplary for a smartphone offered at this price. We actually find a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with FHD+ definition (1080 x 2412 pixels), capable of rendering more than 16.7 million colors and 100% of the DCI-P3 space. Although Honor does not specify the refresh rate of the panel, the latter is undoubtedly 90 Hz, if we refer to the X50i+ model, released exclusively in China, which closely resembles it. Regardless, the impression of fluidity is there.

In addition, the brand placed emphasis on visual comfort of its users by offering several technologies intended to protect them against eye fatigue. This screen firstly emits a small amount of blue light, and also has high frequency PWM dimming of 3240 Hz, as well as TÜV Rheinland anti-flicker certification. Finally, the Honor 200 Lite screen also benefits from beautiful brightness which climbs up to 1200 nits, or even 2000 nits at peak. Thanks to this, the smartphone remains fully usable outdoors in direct sunlight.
A high-performance and durable smartphone, designed for everyday life
The Honor 200 Lite is no slouch when it comes to performance either. Thanks to its MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC and its 8 GB of RAM (+ 8 GB of virtual RAM), it effectively offers beautiful everyday fluiditywhich will respond without problem to standard use. Concretely, if you want to check your emails, use applications or even surf the Internet, you will not experience any slowdown.
However, gambling should be avoided on this model. Let us point out that if you are a casual gamer and you play low-energy games like Candy Crush, you will not encounter any problems. On the other hand, if you want to start a game of Genshin Impact, this is not the mobile for you. However, there is nothing surprising for a smartphone offered at this price.
On the storage side, the phone offers a nice capacity with 256 GB. Enough to allow you to easily store countless applications, files, photos and videos. At this price it’s really appreciable, and we could easily have understood that Honor only offers 128 GB.
Endurance is also the other major strong point of this model which offers autonomy of more than a day with standard use, or even up to two days if you’re really careful. Its 4,500 mAh battery is also compatible with 35 W fast charging. Even if the brand has accustomed us to better in terms of charging power with its more high-end models, we must not forget that we are in the presence of of a smartphone for less than 330 euros. It is therefore normal that the brand makes a few compromises here and there.
An honorable photo part
The smartphone also benefits from nice photo equipment, which is a very good point, knowing that this is a feature particularly popular with users in the mid-range segment. We indeed find a triple sensor on the back of the Honor 200 Lite: with a 108 MP main lens, a 5 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2 MP macro sensor. In practice, only the main module will produce convincing shots as the tests reveal. And it is clear that the quality is there day and night. The photos captured with this module benefit from a beautiful level of detail, as well as colors faithful to reality. The smartphone also offers a host of options to personalize your renderings and obtain even more successful shots, in particular thanks to artistic blur effects or filters.

At the front, the smartphone is also very well off since it benefits from a 50 MP sensor – a surprisingly high resolution for a mid-range smartphone, and which is not necessarily found systematically on more high-end models. Unsurprisingly, the selfies taken with this sensor are very good. It is also interesting to note that this model can film up to Full HD 1080p.
So what is this Honor 200 Lite worth?
The Honor brand, which formerly belonged to Huawei, has built a good reputation on the smartphone market by offering solutions with very good value for money, and which most of the time constitute very good alternatives to more expensive smartphones. The Honor 200 Lite does not deviate in any way from the brand’s principles. Concretely, and although the competition is tough in this segment, it will be difficult to find an opponent worthy of the name.
Without being particularly powerful, or being extravagant, the Honor 200 Lite is intended for users who are looking above all for a functional smartphone capable of meeting everyday needs, without necessarily breaking the bank. We particularly appreciate its long battery life, its well-made AMOLED screen, its successful design, its comfortable handling, its photo equipment, and even its affordable price. Assets that make it an excellent compromise.
