Posting on Instagram may have become outdated (we refuse to hear it), but the social network is now a messaging service in its own right. It took a while for Meta to understand it, but that’s it. First launched as a photo-sharing platform in 2010, Instagram is now much more than that. Next year, the application should represent more than 50% of the advertising revenue of its parent company, Meta. We’re talking about 32 billion dollars, anyway…
During the holiday season, it’s a must to send each other messages to wish each other a Merry Christmas (which you’ve probably already done) and to offer best wishes for the New Year. If you want to be among the first to wish your loved ones a Happy New Year without worrying or spoiling your New Year’s Eve, just remember to schedule your messages. On Instagram, the functionality has just been added. Might as well take advantage of it! So here’s how to schedule your Happy New Year messages on Instagram.
How to schedule a message on Instagram?
The addition of the message scheduling feature on Instagram proves that the social network is now considered a messaging application like any other. Getting organized and scheduling your messages is child’s play. Something to make things easier for you in the new year.
To do this, you simply have to write your message to the person of your choice. Once that’s done, you need to long press the send button (you know, the icon on the right when you’re composing your message). This is where the magic happens: all you have to do is schedule your message on the date and time of your choice. Bingo. All you have to do is click on “Send such date at such time”.
So, to schedule your wishes, you must choose the date of Tuesday December 31, 2024 at 12 p.m. and trifles. And not on January 1, 2025 at midnight (because this choice does not exist). If you have any doubts, you have confirmation that your message will indeed be sent on January 1 at 12:02 a.m. (for example) when you schedule it.
Once your message is scheduled, it will be notified and you can check the scheduled messages. Unfortunately, it is not possible to modify them. So, in the event of an error, you will have to start the operation again. We imagine that Instagram will resolve this little detail in the coming months. At least, we hope so. You have the opportunity to delete your scheduled message or send it immediately if you are in a hurry.
- Open Instagram
- Choose the recipient
- Write the message
- Long press the send button (right)
- Schedule for the desired date and time
- Click the button at the bottom to program
And happy new year to you, dear readers of Presse-citron!
