Starting next year, Instagram plans to launch a new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered video editing feature, using text prompts. This feature, powered by Meta’s Movie Gen AI model, will allow users to edit almost every aspect of their videos simply by typing in text descriptions.
Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, presented a demonstration of this technology, showing how he could change his outfit, add a gold chain around his neck, and change the background of his video to include landscapes like snowy fields, the Eiffel Tower or Times Square. The demo also showed off more creative additions, like turning Mosseri into an Animoji-style animated character.
