Apple’s “It’s Glowtime” event took place just a week ago, with the presentation of the new iPhone 16 range, which will soon be available to the public at the end of the week. If sales seem to be lower than usual, it’s probably because of the lack of evolutions. Well, the iPhone 17 is looking much more interesting.

A feeling of déjà vu

Rumors about the 2025 iPhones didn’t wait for the iPhone 16 keynote. While we already know that Apple is actively working on a Dynamic Island that is reduced to rest, or a Face ID that is shrunk or even hidden under the screen, or that an iPhone 17 Air / Slim would offer a very light and thin alternative to customers, the colors will also vary. According to information from Majin Bu on Xthe iPhone 17 Pro could introduce a new exclusive color. Apple is reportedly testing three potential colors, but only one of them will likely be shown at the official release in September 2025.

    • One of the colors tested is a metallic titanium blue, somewhat reminiscent of the Sierra Blue used on the iPhone 13 Pro series.

    • The second possible color is Titanium Purple, which appears to be similar to the shade used on the iPhone 14 Pro.

    • The third option is Titanium Green, which could resemble the green used on the spring iPhone 13 Pro, although the exact tone is not yet clear.

At this point, titanium green seems to be the frontrunner for the final selection, but we have no way of confirming that. One thing is for sure, there will be at least one new color for the iPhone 17 Pro. And it’s clear that Apple will draw on its previous creations, ultimately changing the final shade only slightly. We’d like a little more boldness, with an orange, bronze or even burgundy finish.

No cable?

In addition, a another rumor mentions the absence of a USB-C cable with the four iPhone 17 models. As with the recent AirPods 4, Apple reportedly intends to remove the cable from the box. So it will only be the iPhone and the instructions. The Cupertino firm has, in turn, ousted the headphones, the power adapter, the “apple” stickers from the packaging of its phones. The cause? The environment of course, but probably also finances. An additional benefit that will not be ignored by AAPL shares.

2 p.m. update : We had not seen that the author had subsequently explained that it was a joke. However, it is quite plausible. Apple could do it in countries where the law allows it.

Who is waiting for the iPhone 17 to change their current phone? What model do you currently have?
