The Palera1n tool, based on the checkm8 hardware flaw for arm64 devices (A11 and older), has received a nice update 2.0.2. Now it is possible to jailbreak from iOS 15 up to iOS 18.1, or rather iPadOS 18.1.

Added support for iOS 18.1 and tvOS 18.1

The Palera1n team announced the good news on X (ex Twitter). According to the developers, Palera1n version 2.0.2 brings the following changes compared to the previous version:

  • Support for iPadOS/tvOS 18.1, bridgeOS 9.1 (update checkra1n to 0.1337.3)
  • Fixed issue where -p option was sometimes ignored
  • Fixed arm64e detection in normal mode

Palera1n 2.0.2 already supports jailbreak for iPadOS 18.1

Good news for users, althoughiPadOS 18.1 Jailbreaking is only possible on the 7th generation iPad. All others have hardware architecture where the vulnerability has been plugged.

Palera1n is a semi-tethered jailbreak, requiring a computer to be reapplied after each reboot, and it runs in rootless mode, which prevents the use of rootful tweaks without first converting.

Dopamine jailbreak is a great alternative to Palera1n for arm64 devices (recent models) running iOS and iPadOS 15.0-16.6.1. With Dopamine, you don’t need a computer to reapply the jailbreak after every reboot.

How to use Palera1n?

Current Palera1n users can update their jailbreak by rebooting their device and applying the new version to install the fixes. New users are encouraged to install the latest version directly to take advantage of the new features and stability improvements.

Now that you know everything, you can go to the Project GitHub page to learn more and download the palera1n jailbreak tool. But before that, take the time to reread our Palera1n jailbreak tutorial, available since iOS 15 and updated very regularly.
