The information, which comes to us from the well-known Chinese leaker Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo, ensures that the next model will have a much more fluid and elegant design, thanks to an innovative glass and metal assembly technique.
Aesthetic changes on the iPhone 17
One of the most criticized aspects of the iPhone in recent years has been the prominent camera module, which many consider poorly integrated with the rest of the design. According to Fixed Focus Digital, the iPhone 17 will take a completely new approach, in which the most important thing will be its smooth transitionsconnecting the camera module and the rear casing in a much more fluid way, without the notable step, thus achieving a much cleaner and more ergonomic design.
On the other hand, the construction of the expected and renewed iPhone 17 will be totally different. Apple engineers would have developed a new technique to fuse glass and metalwhich would allow more natural transitions between the different materials of the terminal.
In the case of the Pro and Pro Max models, Apple could abandon the titanium frame introduced in the iPhone 15 Pro to return to aluminum. In addition, the back would be a hybrid of aluminum in the upper half and glass in the lower half, which would maintain compatibility with wireless charging. We will see if this does not compromise the premium aspect of the device.
Another of the rumors that is coming with more force would have to do with the modification of the camera module. The iPhone 17 Pro would replace the traditional rectangular design with one in the shape of an “elongated oval”, made of aluminum instead of glass. This could not only improve the durability of the device, but would also make a significant aesthetic difference from previous generations. They will no longer be able to say that the new iPhone “is the same as the previous one.”
In addition, sources assure that the standard model, the iPhone 17, will maintain a more discreet design, while the Plus line will be replaced by a completely new model called iPhone 17 Air, with a thinner and lighter design.
Why is this redesign important?
The design of the iPhone 17 is not just an aesthetic issue. These changes can improve key aspects such as ergonomics, due to the soft edges that would make the user experience more comfortable. It would also see its visual appeal improved, with a differentiated, more modern and sophisticated design, at the same time that it would become a toughest device to falls and bumps, by leaving aside materials that are more prone to breaking, such as those they use right now.

The iPhone 17 is expected to be presented at its usual September event, where Apple will bet heavily on design innovation without sacrificing functionality. This change could lay the foundation for the aesthetics of future models, consolidating the company’s position as a leader in industrial design in the smartphone market.
Will this be the iPhone that convinces those who hesitate to change devices? We will have to wait a few months to find out, but the first leaks promise a device as attractive as it is functional.
