As you know, Apple is preparing to launch what is currently called the iPhone 17 Air, with an emphasis on slim and elegant design rather than additional features that are rarely used by customers. . A report from Sisa Journala South Korean news source, reminds us what we can expect from the iPhone 17 Air in terms of size and price, but also Samsung’s response with a Galaxy S25 Slim.
An iPhone with record finesse
According to our colleague, the iPhone 17 Air would only measure 6.25 mm thick, which would make it the thinnest iPhone ever produced by Apple. For comparison, the current iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models are 7.80mm and 8.25mm thick respectively, with the 6.90mm iPhone 6 being the previous thinnest record holder . The “Air” would therefore be around 20% thinner than the iPhone 16.
THE report also confirms previous Wall Street Journal rumors that the iPhone 17 Air will replace the “Plus” model in Apple’s range, keeping the same starting price, i.e. $899 in the USA or a painful €1,119 here.
The Galaxy S25 Slim
But all this is already known. The most interesting is the confirmation that Samsung has taken action on an upcoming “Galaxy S25 Slim”, directly inspired by Apple’s idea. This is the second time that the intention to copy the iPhone 17 Air has been mentioned by the Korean giant.
Coming back to Apple, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature a 6.6-inch display with support for ProMotion technology for refresh rates of up to 120Hz. It is expected to feature a single camera 48 MP rear camera and a 24 MP front camera, powered by an A19 chip (not A19 Pro) and 8 GB of RAM.
The iPhone 17 Air is expected to launch next September, alongside the rest of the iPhone 17 series. This will be the most interesting model, followed by the standard iPhone 17 which will also feature a 120Hz screen.
