We have already known for several years that Sony and Honda have joined forces to jointly launch a range of vehicles, the Afeela. The two Japanese companies took advantage of CES 2025 to provide news. It is now possible to access pre-orders for this electric car, provided you reside in California. Let’s take stock.
The PS5 as a featured guest
Sony obliges, the Afeela offers direct integration of the PlayStation 5 into its on-board system. This allows passengers and the driver (when stationary) to entertain themselves when they feel the need.
Unfortunately, the Afeela will clearly not be within the reach of all budgets. It will indeed cost between $89,000 and $103,000 depending on the model chosen. For these prices, you will benefit from access to different subscription options for three years, including an AI personal assistant that accompanies you while driving.
For the rest, and according to information from The Vergethis electric vehicle will have a range of around 482 km and fast charging of up to 150 kW. The front and rear motors will reach 180 kW. The length of this model will reach almost 5m (4.91m).
Finally, Sony and Honda also promise us various on-board technologies. This is the case for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) which use 40 sensors, including LiDAR cameras, radars, and ultrasonic sensors, to detect and collect data on the area traveled.
