As the year draws to a close, there are more and more rumors about Samsung’s next flagships. Indeed, the Korean giant should normally present the new Galaxy S25 series in January. And a recent leak suggests that this series will be presented at an Unpacked event on January 22. In the meantime, new information is circulating about the design of the most important model in this series: the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Indeed, according to a publication from Ice Universe, a source which is regularly cited by the high-tech press, the S25 Ultra would be entitled to an exclusive new feature: a new generation Gorilla Glass Armor protective glass. This glass would have new anti-reflective properties. Unfortunately, Ice Universe does not provide further details. However, the new Gorilla Glass Armor should give the Galaxy S25 Ultra better resistance to drops and scratches.

The glass used by the Galaxy S24 Ultra already has some impressive properties. According to Corning, which makes Gorilla Glass Armor, the current version is already capable of reducing glare by 75 percent. Corning also says that compared to competing products, this glass is three times more resistant to drops. As for scratch resistance, it would be four times higher, according to laboratory results.

A serious competitor for the iPhone 16 Pro Max

Obviously, Samsung should offer many technical improvements on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, compared to the previous model. For example, this model could use the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which will offer exceptional CPU and GPU speeds. According to rumors, the S25 Ultra should also offer higher RAM memory.

And all this, in addition to making the Galaxy S25 Ultra more efficient, should also allow the device to manage more complex artificial intelligence features, to better compete with iPhones that have Apple Intelligence. For example, it is rumored that, thanks to its new processor and RAM, the Galaxy S25 Ultra would be able to manage more AI features locally, instead of relying on the cloud.

This will be an important advantage, since local processing allows for better confidentiality and reduced latency. But for the moment, caution remains in order, even if Samsung has already indicated, during the presentation of its quarterly results, that it will continue to rely on AI to promote its high-end smartphones.
