There are only a few weeks left to start 2026a year marked by the arrival of new technology, especially referring to the field of AIs, where we will see very powerful chips adapted to them, but that will also help us play games, or run heavy programs.

Today, we will see what next year's Mac Studio would be like, which would carry the M5 Ultra chip, the most powerful released to date by Apple, and which would allow us to perform any action as quickly and efficiently as possible, surpassing many processors from other brands, especially when optimizing it with their own computers.

This will be the next Mac Studio 2026 M5 Ultra

According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple would be preparing a new chip called M5 Ultra for its high-performance Mac Studio computer (and possibly also for the Mac Pro) with a launch scheduled for 2026.

The source tells us that Apple has already launched the M5 chip in the MacBook Pro (as we have seen), and that the variants of this family would arrive in early 2026. However, the M5 Ultra would make an appearance later in the spring or summerperhaps in June or even September 2026, so there is no clear date for its arrival.

The publication also clarifies that in the previous generation there was no Ultra version: Apple omitted this in the M4 chip cycle because the M4 Max design did not have the “UltraFusion” connection that allows two chip dies to be merged, an essential technical requirement for an Ultra. This indicates that the company does not guarantee an Ultra version in each generation, but it does bring us closer to confirmation for this next model.

Mac Studio next to turned on monitor

As for the Mac Studio hardware, not many new details have been leaked beyond the chip change. It could be an update focused on internal improvements (performance, efficiency, integration) and not so much on external redesigns or radically new functionalities. In addition, it is mentioned that Apple would be developing one or two new monitors that could be presented in parallel to the Mac Studio in 2026.

In short: if you are thinking of renewing a professional-range Apple desktop, it may be worth waiting until 2026 to see the jump to the M5 Ultra. Meanwhile, the current Mac Studio with M4 Max or M3 Ultra is still a solid option for most people, since this type of equipment is only aimed at special needs, and a simple normal M4 (for less than 700 euros), is the best option if you are only looking for office automation, watching movies, etc.

And you, do you think this type of powerful equipment is interesting, or is it not necessary to spend so much to enjoy a good computer? In my case I have the Mac Mini M4 that I mentioned, and I wouldn't change it for anything, at least in a standard situation where you don't need it for power or work. Leave us a comment with your opinion, and how much you think this new model with such good performance will be worth.
