The XGIMI video projector brand is taking advantage of CES in Las Vegas to present its Ascend concept. XGIMI has imagined a 100-inch XXL screen which combines with its AURA 2 projector to offer a unique entertainment experience in the living room. The Ascend is a motorized screen that can retract, when not in use, or display only a third of its surface.
In addition to this motorization function, the screen uses a technology called ALR which rejects ambient light, to provide an optimal visual experience. And, on top of that, the Ascend display includes premium Harman Kardon soundbars which, along with the projector speakers, provide an immersive sound experience.
“Ascend symbolizes our commitment to constant innovation in home entertainment and our desire to offer powerful and elegant products that enrich the daily lives of our users. This is the kind of product that impresses at CES, and we can’t wait to get feedback from the experts at the event.”explains Apollo Zhong, CEO of XGIMI.
Still in concept
Unfortunately, the Ascend is still a concept and we don’t know if XGIMI plans to market it one day. On the other hand, the Aura 2 projector for which this concept was designed is indeed a commercial product. This is a high-end ultra short throw projector, which displays a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and a brightness of 2300 lumens. It is also capable of displaying an image size of 90 inches to 150 inches. In France, XGIMI markets the Aura 2 for 2,899 euros.
In 2024, we had the opportunity to test this product, and we were impressed by its design, the image quality, the audio, as well as the fluidity of the Android TV system integrated into the projector.
