This Monday, October 28, Netflix launched Moments on its iOS application. The feature, which will come to Android a little later, is extremely promising. It allows you to share a sequence of a Netflix film or series directly on social networks. Here’s how it works.
Netflix, king of marketing
Concretely, you can now choose from a sequence that stood out to you in a piece of content and publish it using the share button on WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, or even Snapchat. It is also possible to save a song in the “My Netflix” tab to come back to it later. Note also that a ranking of the most sequenced series will be updated regularly.

Not doing things by halves, the entertainment giant has mobilized the stars Giancarlo Esposito, Simone Biles and Cardi B who return with humor to scenes present in their programs on Netflix.
Quoted by VarietyMarian Lee, marketing director of Netflix, emphasizes for her part:
You know that feeling when a scene, a character or a line from a series or movie sticks in your memory and you can’t help but send a message to your friends: “You have to watch this, it’s so good! » ?
She adds: “From sparking Halloween costume ideas to becoming a TikTok sensation, the incredible fandoms we see are a testament to what makes Netflix amazing. Our new campaign aims to celebrate these unforgettable moments, taking you back to the feeling you had when you first became obsessed with a great series on Netflix. »
Netflix’s strategy
Of course, this initiative is undoubtedly not without ulterior motives on the part of Netflix. As noted BFMthe sequences in question will not be visible directly on social networks.
Each extract will in fact be accompanied by a link specifying “view in its original context” which will return to the platform. Enough to encourage Internet users who would like to watch the episode or the entire film to subscribe. This could also prove counterproductive and enrage some users.
