Over a week ago, Apple rolled out an update to the AirPods Pro 2 with new iOS 18 features, users can now say “yes” or “no” with their head to answer a call, they get better voice isolation during calls, and spatial audio in some games. Apple is releasing a second update for the AirPods Pro 2 tonight, a new version that accompanies another update for the AirPods 4, also rolling out tonight.
AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 get an update
Apple has just rolled out a new update for its AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4. AirPods Pro 2 users will see their firmware upgrade from version 7A294 to 7A302, while AirPods 4 users will see their firmware upgrade to version 7A304.
Apple has not yet released specific details about what this update will contain, so it is likely to focus primarily on bug fixes and stability improvements, a common practice for these minor updates.
However, it is possible that this update for the AirPods Pro 2 will also include an expected feature: hearing health. Presented at the Apple Event on September 9, this feature has been authorized to be offered in France, as well as in the United States. If it is well integrated into this update, AirPods Pro 2 users will soon be able to benefit from this new technology to better adapt their listening experience.
The update will install automatically the next time you connect your AirPods to an iPhone, iPad, or Mac. To check if you have the latest version, simply look in your iPhone’s settings and then in AirPods.
