In recent days, iPhone users have noticed with horror the disappearance of their documents in the Notes application after having accepted the new general conditions of iCloud. Apple has finally acknowledged the issue in a new support document that provides instructions for users whose iCloud Notes are not appearing on their iPhone, iPad, or Vision Pro.

Apple’s solution

The good news is that missing notes can be re-synced from iCloud.

THE steps described by Apple are almost identical to the solutions shared by some customers on the forums:

  1. Open the Settings app and tap your name.
  2. Tap iCloud, then tap Notes.
  3. Make sure Sync this (device) is enabled, then check the Notes app.
  4. If you still don’t see your notes, restart your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro. After restarting, check your settings again.

After these steps, your iCloud Notes should appear and start syncing again on devices signed into the same Apple account. Once syncing is complete, content previously synced to iCloud should appear.

The issue appears to coincide with iCloud’s September terms update, which included minor changes. Many users have been asked to accept these conditions in recent weeks, increasing discontent, particularly on social networks.

This is not the only problem with this update. In a other support documentApple recommends that users experiencing the “Action Unable to Complete” error when trying to accept the new iCloud terms make sure their devices are running the latest versions of iOS, iPadOS, or visionOS before proceeding. try again.
