Apple has released its traditional Christmas ad. For 2024, the firm is offering a sequence full of emotions entitled “ Heartstrings », which beautifully illustrates the new hearing aid function introduced in the AirPods Pro 2. Unfortunately, the latter is not available in France, unlike the other new health features of the AirPods Pro
Help dad!
The video captures the essence of a father experiencing the muffled sounds of his family’s holiday festivities. Thanks to the magic of AirPods Pro 2, he goes from a world of fuzzy sounds to one where he can clearly hear the voices of his loved ones as they open presents, sing Christmas carols, and exchange greetings. Apple headphones bring the family closer together!
The ad, which was shared on the Californian manufacturer’s YouTube channel, highlights the problem of undiagnosed hearing loss that affects millions of people around the world. However, regaining hearing is of paramount importance.
With the introduction of this feature, Apple is providing an accessible solution, promoting greater awareness and support for hearing health.
AirPods Pro 2: a new era of hearing aids
Announced in September, the hearing aid is a free update for AirPods Pro 2 owners, currently limited to the United States and Canada.
If hearing loss is identified, users can activate hearing aid mode. This mode enhances environmental sounds, making conversations and ambient noises clearer. Plus, it automatically adjusts audio playback for a personalized experience.
This innovative feature quickly received FDA approval in the USA, providing a cost-effective alternative to traditional over-the-counter hearing aids while providing performance comparable to custom-made devices for mild to moderate hearing loss.
In France, we are satisfied with the hearing test for the moment. Customers can complete a scientifically validated hearing test in less than five minutes using their AirPods and iPhone. The results are then stored securely in the Health app.
