These days, there is a lot of talk about the agreement between Apple and Google, in which Gemini will be the AI used by Tim Cook's company so that Siri knows how to respond in a more natural, human and intelligent way, something that has surprised many, especially the competition, owners of other AIs such as Grok or ChatGPT.

Today we will see something that many Apple users care about, and that is the fact that the company will not leave everything in the hands of Googleand although it is going to rely on them to improve its own Artificial Intelligence, it will do so in the most independent way possible.

Siri will not depend on Gemini 100%

With all the fuss that there is lately with artificial intelligence, Apple is also making progress, although at its own pace (slower than the rest of the companies). One of the things that has come out is that Apple is going to use Gemini technology, Google's AI, but not as it comes standard. The idea is not to just put it in and that's it, but to adjust it in your own way.

This fits quite well with how Apple usually works. When they use something from another company, they almost never leave it “pure.” They always tweak it, limit it or adapt it to fit their ecosystem. Something similar happens here: Gemini would be there underneath, doing the heavy lifting, but the user would not have the feeling of using something from Google. Furthermore, at the level of privacy, they take it very seriously, and will not transfer their users' data to external parties.

In fact, Apple wants everything to continue to feel like Apple. Siri will continue to be Siri, with the way she speaks, her responses, and her integration with the system. You won't see weird references or messages saying this comes from Google. For those who use the iPhone, it will simply be “Siri now works better.”

And it is that, Apple does not want to depend on what Google does with Geminisince they may like it now, but if they decide to change something, Siri would also be modified, and not depending on themselves worries them, so it is one more reason for not being 100% united with Google, and only using it as a base.

In the end, this is not about Apple becoming dependent on Google, but about using what suits them and making it their own. Apple knows that it is late in the AI race, but it also knows that many users prefer something that works well and is integrated, rather than having a thousand different options.

For most people, all this is going to happen almost without noticing. One day you will update your iPhone and Siri will respond better, understand better what you ask of it, and do more things in a row without getting confused. And that's it. Nobody is going to stop to think if that comes from Gemini, Apple or a mixture of both.

In short, Apple is going to use the power of Gemini, but passed through its own filter. On the outside, it will still be Apple through and through. Inside, there will be Google technology helping, but without being noticeable.
