Apple is preparing to enter the connected surveillance camera market, according to information from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The Cupertino giant is targeting massive production for 2026, with ambitious targets of several tens of millions of units sold per year.
An ambitious smart home strategy
This new connected camera will integrate perfectly into the Apple ecosystem, in particular thanks to an optimized wireless connection with the brand’s other devices. The focus will be on integration with Siri and Apple Intelligence features, providing an enriched user experience. Security and privacy will be at the heart of the product, drawing on Apple’s expertise in protecting personal data, notably through HomeKit Secure Video.
This camera is part of Apple’s broader strategy to conquer the connected home market. Before its launch in 2026, the firm plans to release a connected screen from 2025, combining the functionalities of a HomePod with a square touch screen.
The connected IP camera market currently represents between 30 and 40 million units shipped per year. Apple aims to capture a significant share with more than 10 million units annually. Production will be carried out by the Chinese manufacturer Goertek, which becomes the exclusive supplier for the assembly of this new product.
Kuo adds in passing that he still believes in future AirPods with “health features”, without saying more for the moment.
