Apple is already generating excitement with the next major launch of its iPad Pro line, scheduled for the second half of 2025. According to reliable sources, such as analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this device will be the first to incorporate Apple Silicon’s M5 chip, marking a new milestone in the evolution of the company’s most powerful tablet.

Although Apple already renewed this device last May, we can already anticipate what everyone expects: we will see new iPad Pro in a few months.

iPad Pro with M5 chip in 2025

Apple’s renewal strategy for the iPad Pro follows a 12 to 18 month cycle, but the next model promises to break this pattern. The latest iPad Pro with M4 chip was launched in May 2024, 19 months after its predecessor with M2, and was surprising for being the first in skip a generation of processorsdirectly adopting the innovative 3nm chip. According to rumors, the 2025 iPad Pro appears to be on track to extend this cycle even further, entering mass production in the second half of that year, with a launch expected in September or October.

Although the M5 is expected to be an evolution of the M4, rumors suggest that the advancements won’t be incredible. This new processor, manufactured in 3nm node TSMC’s next-generation technology could offer higher transistor density, resulting in slight improvements in performance and power efficiency. Major innovations will likely be saved for future devices, such as the 2025 MacBook Pro lineup and the next-generation Vision Pro, which will also feature the M5.

The 2024 iPad Pro has no rival

The iPad Pro with M4 has already revolutionized the line with a slimmer design and the introduction of OLED displays in Tandem technology, which offer more vivid colors and more efficient energy consumption. This leaves us with a scenario in which we should not expect major design changes for the 2025 model. Instead, Apple could focus onn optimize existing functions and expand the capabilities of the iPad as a substitute for the traditional laptop, relying on its iPadOS operating system.

The launch of the 2025 iPad Pro will not only be crucial for Apple’s tablet lineup, but also for the company’s overall sales momentum. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the second half of 2025 will be marked by a significant increase in the Apple financial performancepowered by this and other key releases.

For consumers, the wait may seem long, but as usual at Apple, everything indicates that we will see a refined and well-thought-out product that could redefine market standards.

Although the first signs point to an iPad Pro with more internal than external changes, the arrival of the M5 and the optimization of already established technologies could be enough to keep Apple at the top of the premium tablet segment. The real question is whether this model will be able to win over new users or if its proposal will be reserved for those most loyal to the company’s ecosystem.

With 2025 about to begin in less than a month, everything seems to indicate that Apple has big plans for the future of its iPad Pro. And although there are still months to see it in action, expectations are higher than ever. Could this be the iPad we’ve all been waiting for?
