POCO has officially confirmed that the global launch of the X8 Pro series will take place next March 17, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. Beijing time (1:00 p.m. in Spain). The brand announced it today through its social networks with the “Speed to the max” teaser, leaving very little doubt about which devices we will see: the POCO X8 Pro and the POCO X8 Pro Max.
What POCO has not said – although it is not necessary either – is that both phones are, in essence, international versions of the Redmi Turbo 5 and the Redmi Turbo 5 Maxpresented in China at the end of January. It is Xiaomi's usual strategy: launch first in the Chinese market under Redmi and then repackage the product for the rest of the world with the POCO seal. It's no secret, and given the results, there is no reason to change it.

The X8 Pro would arrive with a 6.59-inch OLED screen at 1.5K and 120 Hz, the chip MediaTek Dimensity 8500and a battery that according to leaks would be around 6,500 mAh with 100 W charging. Here there is an important nuance: the Chinese version has 7,560 mAhbut global models usually cut capacity due to air transport regulations. It would not be the first time that Xiaomi makes this adjustment without giving too much notice.
The X8 Pro Max clearly goes up a level: 6.83-inch screen, the Dimensity 9500s manufactured in 3 nm process, 50 MP Light Hunter 600 main camera, and a battery that could reach 8,500 mAh. High-end performance, mid-range price.
It remains to be seen how the wide-angle camera will turn out – the weakest link in both models according to the leaks – and, above all, the price. With the event just over a week away, the answer is close. For those who follow the compatibility with Android 17, we have a complete list of POCO mobiles confirmed for the update.
