YouTube has reintroduced support for the iOS Share Sheet, allowing users to upload videos directly from the Photos app or other video apps on their iPhone. This seamless integration brings back a feature that was removed in 2018.
How to upload to iPhone?
With the updated YouTube app, users can:
- Select a video in the Photos app or other compatible apps.
- Tap the Share button and choose YouTube from the share sheet options.
- The video is automatically uploaded to YouTube, where it can be edited and uploaded, perfect for creating YouTube short films.
This update eliminates the need to manually open the YouTube app to download videos, simplifying the sharing process.
Availability
The feature was quietly included in version 19.47.7 of the YouTube app, released on November 10, 2024. Although it was not highlighted in the release notes, users can access the feature by simply making sure you have the latest version on iPhone or iPad.
Good news for YouTubers who will now be able to do everything from Apple devices, shooting, editing and publishing.
