Small surprise, Apple has officially added to its catalog a new Belkin upper headband for the Apple Vision Pro. This headband, called a “head strap”, closely resembles the one shown at WWDC23. Designed for use with the Solo Knit headband, it improves the comfort and stability of the device, visibly more so than Apple’s.

Belkin improves the hold of the Vision Pro

This Belkin headband is described as an ergonomic and adjustable accessory, designed to enhance the Vision Pro experience. It adds additional stabilization points and a secure locking mechanism to keep the device in place, even when moving, while aesthetically matching the headband Solo Knit basic. Its price is €54.95.

During the Vision Pro presentation at WWDC 2023, Apple showed a person wearing the headset with a Solo Knit headband as well as a top headband, and even offered this combination to journalists during the demonstration of the device. However, this top banner was never made available to the public. In addition to the Solo Knit headband, the Vision Pro comes with the Dual Loop Bandwhich has two thinner straps, one upper and one lower.

Some users, like us, find that the Vision Pro remains heavy on the face even with the double headband provided. Faced with these criticisms, it is likely that Apple has partnered with Belkin to finally design an upper headband compatible with the Solo Knit Band. However, we would have liked such an accessory to be delivered directly in the standard box of the Vision Pro, given the price of the beast. As a reminder, the mixed reality headset starts at €3,999, notably without the travel bag.

If sales are relatively low, Apple still plans to release a Vision Pro 2 in 2025, as well as a standard Vision, half the price, by then.
