ChatGPT launches canvas, the first major update to ChatGPT’s visual interface since its launch two years ago. A design designed for workers which will be refined over the months.
Canvas: a revisited ChatGPT interface
ChatGPT presents canvasa brand new interface which aims to make life easier for users who carry out writing or coding projects using the OpenAI service. This sidebar, which opens automatically or manually, allows you to keep the discussion with the AI aside and work in symbiosis with it.

For example, it is possible to highlight text and ask ChatGPT to focus only on that part. A shortcut menu provides quick access to the most common actions such as debugging code or adjusting certain writing parameters. A button is also present to quickly go back, in short a real little interface designed exclusively for working with ChatGPT and above all much more practical than the initial SMS style chat window.
A first beta version which runs under GPT-4o and initially reserved for paying users via ChatGPT Plus and Team. OpenAI promises that all users of the free version will be able to take advantage of it when it exits its beta cycle.
